Finding the best you through fat and cellulite management

We are told to be comfortable with the way we look. While it’s important to love your body, you also must ensure you are healthy and fit in order to live a long, quality life. If you are living with unwanted fat and cellulite, it can be difficult to maximize your self esteem, and this has a direct negative correlation with the quality of your life, both personal and business. Whether you avoid certain clothing due to your problem or you would just like to make small changes, there are steps you can take to truly love your body and feel your best.

Good Vs. Bad fat

When we hear the word “fat”, there is an immediate negative connotation. What most people fail to realize, however, is that there are two types of fat in the body: white and brown. The white fat is what we consider bad, and this is what we try to eliminate. However, we also have brown fat, and it’s packed full of mitochondria, the part of the cell that generates heat. A surprising two ounces of brown fat is capable of burning up to 20 percent of the body’s calories.

Just how do you get the brown fat working? It doesn’t take much. Make it your goal to engage in at least 30 minutes of exercise per day as this can convert white fat into brown fat. You don’t even have to hit the gym. Creatively incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Little things you can do that add up include:

  • Parking at the far end of the parking lot at work or the grocery store

  • Standing up at your cubicle for at least an hour of your workday

  • Taking a brisk walk during your lunch break. You can even get a group of coworkers together to make it a more enjoyable experience.

Another great way ensure you get your 30 minutes in every day is to find a workout buddy. It’s all too easy to take a day off from your regimen. This is dangerous as it’s easy for off-days to become the norm. When you have a workout partner, however, you can hold each other accountable and stay on track to continue to convert that white fat into brown.

Fat deposits just below the skin

Thousands of people suffer with fat deposits just below the skin. Cellulite is a common issue that is said to have no cure, and it can be depressing suffering with this issue when you think there’s nothing that can be done. There are a number of causes for the initial development including:

  • Poor diet and lifestyle choices

  • Hormonal changes

  • Age

  • Genetic predisposition

While it may seem impossible to get rid of, there are things you can do to diminish the appearance. It starts with flushing the body of toxins. To achieve this, eat clean, unprocessed foods. This doesn’t have to cause you to spend hours at the grocery store. The trick is to shop on the outer edges of the store and avoid foods within the aisles as this is where most of the toxins lie.

Vitamin D

Another little-known trick that’s been proven to yield results in treating fat is the use of vitamin D. Studies have shown that proper levels of this vitamin increase the effectiveness of leptin, the hormone that tells the brain you’re full. Further studies also suggest that people who start weight loss programs lose more if they have proper vitamin D levels compared to those lacking. The trouble most people have is that it can prove difficult to get vitamin D through food. To overcome this hurdle, you can consider taking a vitamin D3 supplement.

Stand your ground

While you may be taking steps to achieve fat reduction, you are going to have to spend time around those who aren’t. This is one of the biggest reasons people fail. It’s imperative that you stand your ground and avoid the temptations around you. So, the next time Karen from accounting comes by with an afternoon snack that’s chocked full of calories, politely turn her down and let her know your goals. You could even be proactive and encourage others by bringing your own healthful snacks to pass around.

Self-Esteem you can feel

When you truly feel good about the way you look, it creates a level of self-esteem that will show when you walk into a room. Fat reduction does take effort, but, when you follow these helpful tips, you can begin to develop habits that will guide you in the right direction and help you begin to yield the kind of results you have likely spent years trying to achieve.
